Why Write a Recycling Blog?

*

Here at Recycle Reimagined, I have a particular mission. It is, however, a double-edged mission. Something like a double-edged sword and hopefully just as sharp, but hopefully not as dangerous.

Nowadays, people talk about sustainable lifestyles. On the extreme end of the spectrum, there are those who say that in order to live a truly sustainable lifestyle, you literally have to get off the grid. That means leave the system, live without technology and forget all about progress. On the other end of the spectrum, you see the likes of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who love to talk to us all about saving the planet. Yet they engaged a private plane to help them reach their destination in California. That's one sizeable carbon footprint they've left. It would have made far more sense ecologically to buy a couple of airline tickets and share their flight with fellow travellers. It would have been a much fairer use of resources. But unlike most people, they have a privileged lifestyle. Still, it would be good if they practiced what they preach.

However,  you won't find this blog at either end of the spectrum. We're somewhere in the middle. We believe that everyone should stay up to date and use the technology that has evolved to make our lives easier and more enjoyable. But we do believe that everyone should be responsible for their use of resources, recycling whenever and wherever possible. That's the only way to have the best of both worlds.

This recycling blog is our way of contributing to recycling awareness. The mission is to raise awareness among people that we can all do our bit to help the planet, no matter how small the contribution.
