Get Recycling!

According to an article on the Repak website on the 5th of April, Ireland’s recycling agencies were fully expecting that Irish households would recycle up to 70,000 tonnes of material this past Easter owing to the effects of the holiday season alone. Well, the Irish public seem to have got the message about recycling packaging, if not tech waste. Something for which we can be thankful.

A recent article on the Peak Envelopes blog mentions that Ireland has plans to recycle 50% of all plastic packaging by 2025 and 55% by 2030 in accordance with the EU Action Plan for the Circular Economy. That sounds promising. Let’s hope that plan lives up to expectations. It certainly didn’t help morale to read a report in the Irish Examiner last year that Ireland is one of the worst countries in the EU for recycling plastic. Well, there’s always hope that things will turn around.
If you want to get on board with recycling, consider buying a recycled computer the next time you buy a laptop. .
It will certainly do you good. It will do the planet good and it will do your pocket good too. Really, what more do you want?
